Standard health and safety induction process now live

Forticrete site induction notice

New standard health, safety and environmental induction processes are now live across Forticrete to include visitors, hauliers, new employees and contractors.

Visitors, both internal and external to the company, are now taken through a short site induction at the point of signing in which covers emergency fire evacuation procedures, first aid, PPE requirements, energy conservation, waste recycling and welfare facilities.

Hauliers and delivery drivers receive a similar induction as well as information on any significant hazards on the site including the safe tipping rules. The induction information is also displayed in meeting and training room areas with a map of the site to inform people of the different areas of the building.

The new employee and contractor induction was finalised and issued in October and covers both the employer’s and employee’s responsibilities for health & safety based around our 12 Key Issues of Safety Management.

Health & Safety Manager, Asif Khalil, commented: “Our aim is to achieve zero harm at all times and so it is vital that visitors to our sites and new employees, whether permanent or contract, are inducted and given the opportunity to fully understand and appreciate our approach to health & safety on all our sites. The new induction is there to educate people from the outset and to immerse them in a health & safety culture.
