Forticrete recognises long service

Health and safety

Forticrete has recognised the long-standing service of Karl Stevens, who joined the company in 1993.

Karl originally joined Forticrete, the leading manufacturer of concrete roof tiles, architectural masonry and walling and cast stone, having previously been an electrical engineer. In October 1994 he helped the company establish its stone factory at Ibstock, and then moved into cast stone production. Karl is now the Health, Safety and Environmental Co-ordinator for Forticrete’s seven manufacturing facilities

In his role, Karl oversaw a milestone at the company’s Anstone factory which recently celebrated 1,000 days since the last lost time accident (LTA). “If we send people home every day safe and without harm, then the day has been a good one, says Karl.

Karl has an Honours Degree in Economics, a degree in Environment Management and will soon commence his studies for a degree in H&S Management.

John Lambert, Managing Director of Forticrete, comments: “Karl has played an instrumental role in Forticrete’s activities for the last 25 years. His passion for his job is evident and motivates the people around him. I would like to thank Karl for his commitment to his role - his experience is important in ensuring high levels are maintained across our manufacturing facilities.”

Please join us in congratulating Karl on his achievement!
