Forticrete launches BIM object library
Continuing its commitment to go that 'extra mile' for its customers, Forticrete has launched a comprehensive BIM object library showcasing its wide range of decorative facing masonry blocks, popular reconstituted walling stone and high performance Cast Stone Regency Ashlar blocks.
Available free from the National Building Specification (NBS) National BIM Library, the new data-rich BIM objects allow specifiers to easily incorporate Forticrete products into a BIM model and associated component database. Authored to the trusted NBS standard and integrated with NBS specification software, each BIM object details the various finishes, profiles, sizes and wide variety of striking colours of each product available to specifiers.
John Lambert, general manager at Forticrete, commented: "The latest NBS National BIM Report highlights that the majority of the construction sector has now adopted BIM and used the technology for at least one project in the last 12 months. With an ever-increasing number of our customers already embracing BIM and capitalising on the benefits and opportunities it brings, in addition to the technology becoming compulsory in 2016 for all public projects, the decision to launch a Forticrete BIM object library was clear.
"At Forticrete, we fully understand the significance of manufacturers' data in the success of BIM and share the widespread view that it is the future of specification. Moving forward we will continue to invest in and further strengthen our BIM object library to provide specifiers with complete design flexibility."
