David Wilson Homes specifies Forticrete roof tiles for new luxury development in Wolverhampton
Forticrete’s award-winning Gemini® roof tile and high performance cast stone has been specified by David Wilson Homes for the construction of Woodthorne, a picturesque development of 46 four and five bedroom detached homes and 12 luxury two bedroom apartments in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton.
David Wilson Homes was required to specify high quality materials capable of satisfying local planning authorities' desire for new homes to look attractive, blend with the surrounding area and help shape desirable communities where people want to live. David Wilson Homes has regenerated the land and the new homes at Woodthorne are set among peaceful, mature tree lined avenues.
Forticrete’s Gemini interlocking tiles have been specifically designed to replicate the look and feel of a traditional plain tile roof. They are specifically designed as interlocking tiles which are just 270mm x 337mm overall, yet because of a carefully judged central groove and innovative ‘double cambered’ design, they have the appearance of two traditional plain tiles side by side when laid, effectively laying two tiles at a time. As a consequence they have 40% less CO2 emissions per m2 roof and, as they use less tiles per m2, the cost to lay them is also significantly reduced.
Forticrete's Cast Stone dressings are a perfect example of advanced technology and time honoured craftsmanship working together in perfect harmony. The result is a wide range of Cast Stone products using a wet or semi-dry format of unrivalled quality with no compromise to aesthetic appeal.
