Forticrete is committed to the creation of the highest quality products for the UK construction industry. To this end it manufactures its concrete roof tiles, cast stone, walling stone and architectural masonry ranges to a number of National and International Standards.

"The Government is increasing its focus on sustainable development. Many construction companies now recognise the need to prove building products that have a sustainable footprint. 'Green' claims are easy to make, but much harder to substantiate."

"Forticrete has a strong commitment to the environment and sustainable building. The company has already been awarded the ISO 14001 environment management standard. I am very pleased to announce that we have now been awarded the BES 6001 standard. This covers our entire product range. The standard has been achieved by all our manufacturing sites. This is a truly fantastic achievement."

"The Code for Sustainable Homes also recognises the BES 6001 standard. This gives developers using certified products additional credits. This accreditation will give our customers peace of mind. Irrespective of which product or site they utilise, reaching their sustainability targets will be a much easier process."

Mark Houghton, Managing Director, Ibstock Concrete Division
