Kiveton™ Retaining Garden Walling

Retaining Wall System

Kiveton Retaining Block Wall

Our retaining garden block wall system creates cost effective dry-stone walling. It enables the simple creation of low height gravity landscape walls or taller reinforced soil wall structures capable of handling surcharge loads.

KivetonTM Walling is available in four colour options: Natural, Buff, Black Old Weathered and Brown Old Weathered, that match many of the regional stone variations prevalent throughout the UK. There are two face finish options - a rugged split face and a pitched face, which is a rough effect whereby each stone has a raised centre, typical of quarry-dressed stone. Both of these finishes can be laid to create vertical or stepped battered walls. To create a continuous battered wall, there is a product with a raked face, the bottom half of which is split and the top half of which is raked back by 20mm to create a natural battered effect when laid.

Kiveton Pin

The system comprises stones of three different face sizes, which are combined to create a random effect or can be used in single size only. Each unit is 300 mm deep and 140mm high with face widths of 225mm, 300mm and 450mm. On the bottom rear face of each unit is a series of slots, provided to accept purpose-designed plastic pins that locate into the stones in one of two ways. One way aligns the back faces of the units to create a vertical wall. Turning the pin around aligns the units 20mm further back than the unit below, creating a traditional battered wall.

The system can be used to create vertical gravity retaining walls up to 600mm and battered walls up to 900mm high, following Forticrete's design recommendations. Substantially higher soil reinforced walls are possible, providing that these are designed individually.

Units are manufactured and supplied with both smooth and split side faces, enabling 90º returns to be created. Standard units have parallel sides, for creating straight walls or concave curves and stones with specially shaped sides are supplied to order that enable the creation of convex curves.

Walls are finished off with matching caps, which are mortar bonded to the top course, to complete the natural appearance.

Forticrete has created a purpose-designed lifting tool that enables the larger units to be handled simply by a two man team.
