Robust Details Ltd have  added a further masonry wall solution to their portfolio of solutions, providing compliance with the requirements of Part E of the Building Regulations.

E-WM-9 is a solid wall solution based on a standard 100mm dense aggregate block laid flat to achieve a 215mm wide wall. This is then parged with a minimum 13mm sand:cement render to seal the surface prior to dry lining with a Gypsum based board. In order to meet the requirements of the solution, Robust Details state that the block must be easily identifiable by a manufacturer's mark or feature prior to it being parged.

To that end Forticrete can offer the Newcon RD block, which has a single groove to one end therefore complying with the design criteria. At present the block is only suitable for use on raft foundations, however future developments and testing by Robust Details may allow it to be used on strip foundations.
