1. Fix a mono pitch felt spacer to each rafter so that the felt spacers abut the wall plate.

2. Lay roofing felt to finish 15mm from the top of the felt spacers.

3. Nail the top tiling batten 40mm down the rafter from the wallplate. Batten in the normal manner.

4. Tile in the normal manner and lay top fillers or ridge level ventilators in place on the top course of tiles or slates. Hook one abutment spring clip per tile under the top tiling batten and over the top filler or ventilator.

5. Dress with 19kg/m² lead flashing. A tilting fillet should be used to prevent the lead flashing sagging behind the top course of tiles.
