Bespoke Cast Stone at its Best
Bluecoat School, Nottingham's oldest free school, is celebrating its 300th anniversary with the completion of new buildings at the Aspley Lane site.
At the heart of the building is the first School Chapel in the 300-year history of the Nottingham Bluecoat School. The Chapel is on the first floor and will be the focal point for anyone approaching the Aspley Lane island on Western Boulevard from the south and east
The project, designed by Franklin Ellis Architects in Nottingham, features Forticrete Bespoke semi-dry Cast Stone supplied through merchants Roy Geddes Brick. There was a huge amount of input on the poject from the Product Engineering department at Forticrete's Anstone site, due to the amount of detailing required for the bespoke components.
The main contractor on site was Marriott Construction.
