Hi-Light a winner at Ski Cente
The new £40million Xscape Centre in Braehead, Glasgow comprising an indoor ski centre consisting of real snow slope, nursery slope, 12 screen cinema, 26 lane bowling alley, family entertainment centre, nightclub and bar, restaurant and takeaways opened in 2006 and is now being used by main contractor, Laing O'Rourke as an example of Resource Efficiency.
The project utilised Forticrete's Hi-Light masonry and allowed a saving of 849m³ of raw material, due to the cellular nature of the product, this equated to £250,000 and 35 low-load lorry movements.
Forticrete's Hi-Light meets the requirements of the HSE guidelines for a single repetitive lift as the 140mm option is under 20kg. It also has excellent Acoustic and Thermal properties.
