Forticrete, part of Concrete Products Europe, has increased its production capacity by opening a new block plant in Liverpool, England.

Situated on the site of Forticrete Central Office, the new manufacturing facility gives Forticrete a renewed presence in Merseyside, a region currently buoyed by significant inward investment following the City of Liverpool being awarded European Capital Of Culture 2008.

Project Gowy sets the new Forticrete standard for block manufacturing and is a tangible vision of the way forward. Market leading technology has been introduced throughout the project, including the Hess RH600 block press, Fortress ASI 2 Safety Interlock Systems and an unprecedented level of machine guarding.

High levels of automation, together with the utilisation of recycled feed materials, will help facilitate the production of competitively priced products and further demonstrate the company commitment to environmental responsibility.
