Dewsbury gains its certification
Forticrete's Dewsbury manufacturing facility in West Yorkshire has recently been awarded its ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems certificate bringing to completion just over 12 months of hard work and effort by the entire team.
With Dewsbury achieving this certification, it means that all twelve of Forticrete's manufacturing facilities meet the requirements of ISO 14001. Managing Director, Shaun Gray, commented "The Forticrete team set out 3 years ago with a target of full ISO 14000 compliance across all sites by the end of 2007. As you have read above, this has now been achieved, but there is no doubt that we must recognise the drive of John Adnitt, our Environment Manager, who took up the challenge, and with the help of everybody at site level has made this happen.
In view of our Customer Profile, who are increasingly seeking suppliers who have these credentials, coupled with a similar mindset and culture, Forticrete has made this committment across the board in the way it operates its business, now and into the future.
Through the introduction of its CSR policy, Forticrete sees the
next few years as a time of change, in which the "Sustainabilty"
credentials will become more and more apparent, taking the supply
chain forward such that innovation to maintain pace with the Code
for Sustainable Homes is paramount to ensure leading edge products
and continuous improvements in our manufacturing methods are key to
future success."
