Is it correct that I can only use Aerated block to meet Part L of the Building Regulations?

No, this is incorrect. The upper limit for U-values for walls set out in Part L is 0.35 W/m²K; however it is generally felt that a figure of 0.3 W/m²K will be required to achieve compliance. There are a number of solutions both partial and full fill that will allow the use of Forticrete aggregate masonry units to achieve 0.3W/m²K or better.
