What is the difference between Split, Pitched and Cottage finish?

Split Face - A split stone face providing a straight, irregular, rough finish

Pitched Face - The same Split stone with all four edges dressed(chipped) providing a raised centre.

Cottage Face - The same Split stone which is then rumbled in a machine to provide irregular round edges.
