Redrow homes were asked to use a plain tile on this site by Wirral MBC, however due to the cost implications of roofing the whole site of 300+ houses in a plain tile, Redrow made the decision to build at risk and use Forticrete's Gemini after the first block of apartments had been finished in plain tile.

Once the first block of Gemini houses was complete Redrow asked the planners to visit site and compare the plain tile against the Gemini. Subsequently Redrow are finishing the whole site in various colours of Gemini with Planning approval
