Project Description
Nominet, the Oxford-based registry of .uk internet domain names has recently moved into its new premises at The Oxford Science Park.
The new 25,250-sq ft headquarters building constructed using Forticrete's Textured Architectural Masonry, is on a prime 1.5-acre plot overlooking a lake within the Science Park and was designed by architects Nicholas Hare and was constructed for Nominet by the Science Park Joint Venture (Magdalen College, Oxford and Prudential). "This 'build-to-suit' arrangement is popular with an increasing number of businesses wanting to own their own buildings", according to Prudential's Jane Holliday. "We've worked closely with Nominet on the design and have been able to tailor the building to best suit their operations," she commented.
Magdalen College's Charles Young says that Nominet was attracted by the quality of the environment and chose The Oxford Science Park against considerable competition. "Nominet is a well-known name both in Oxford and across the UK," he said "and we are fortunate - and delighted - to welcome them to the Park."
