Project Description:
The new £3.5m Gateway Building at Sunderland University is one of only several "one-stop shops" for student services in the UK. Its services include the Student Union, Chaplaincy, Financial, Health and Welfare.
This new entrance into the Gateway Building at Sunderland University was constructed using metric size 390 x 190mm Medici blocks. The photographs show the number and configuration of windows in the elevation and highlights the use of factory cut blocks to negate the need for site cutting. The lintel above the doorway was manufactured to match the blockwork creating a fluid feel to the whole design.
